This research project allowed further development of environmental awareness, specifically endangered Malaysian species through branding and packaging. However overall, I was able to continue my learning on important environmental issues and develop my design skills in the areas I have most interest in. This positions myself as a designer with the ability to express and convey information in different forms. Each of the projects forced myself to adapt my copywriting skills and art direction as each project had different audiences and required a certain tone of voice along with the capability to adhere to unique illustrating techniques or styles. Additionally, this project allowed myself to express information in forms I would not usually head for which shows that I am able to adapt my skills to different requirements, situations and art directions.

As a critical practitioner, I would consider myself as a designer and illustrator with the passion of communicating and conveying information through illustrations. With the consistent interest in environmental awareness, I have learnt that I am interested in sharing information on the environment among younger audiences as my design preferences mainly lean towards a youthful look. I prefer the term to ‘share’ rather than to ‘educate’ as I myself am still learning and have not professionally studied the environment. To share would mean that I am sharing information through my passion and knowledge among other individuals where the material is either learnt or already known (by the reader/viewer). I am interested in the children’s publication industry where I am still certain that in the future, I will continue to work and create for younger audiences whether it is working on a book or developing a game.
