For this semester's Co-Exist project, we were split into groups of twelve determined by the appointed group leaders. I was actually a little stressed when I found out that I was a group leader because I'm already handling three MPU groups 😟 - but it's okay since our group has four leaders. Anyways, during our first meeting we decided to split into smaller groups according to which theme we wanted to work on. Aina, Hafiz, Felicia and I worked on 3D Geometry.

Our first idea was inspired by the vaporwave aesthetic. Playing with lines and different shapes, we wanted to have this grid pattern that leads towards a 'gear portal'. Areas of the grid also come up and sink in randomly.

At this point we weren't thinking about colours and just focused on trying to get our idea on paper.

After receiving feedback that the grid might not work as it would be a wide perspective we decided to just play with shapes and have certain elements that symbolise the engineering courses provided at INTI.

my proposed idea to the group

This was the idea I had worked on last weekend. I looked up what courses are offered at our campus and tried to symbolise mechanical, software and chemical engineering into icons. That is how I came up with the coding and wiring (?) elements for software engineering. For mechanical engineering I chose tools such as a wrench, nut/bolts and gears. Lastly I simply chose a conical flask and pipette for chemical engineering.

revamped idea

During week 4's class everyone decided to go with my idea for next week's pitch. We discussed what things were missing - someone had suggested to add a robot on one of the shutters and add in extra coding elements to fill in some of the gaps. We also decided which paint colours suited the design.

✦ Colours ✦

Navy - Wira Blue

Orange - Sunbaked

Purple - Purple Comet

Aqua- Frost Blue
